Resolved Question: Where did Cain's wife come from? Bible Study, Not Doubting. So Rhetorical Atheists please Avoid this...?

I don't care if you are a Christian or a Non Christian Bible Scholar. Just please back your answer by scripture. I am studying specific questions I have always been curious about as a kid. NOT to question GOD or Christianity, or to determine my faith... Just good ole' home grown bible study. I read Genesis where he went away from God with a mark on his head (so he won't be killed) because Cain says: (Gen 4:14,16-17) "Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me." / " (16)Then Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. (17) Cain had relations with his wife and she conceived, and gave birth to Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city Enoch, after the name of his son." (Verse 15) - WHAT PEOPLE??? WHERE DID THEY arrive FROM??? (Verse 16) - Obviously he found his wife in NOD, but I was below the impression - after he killed Able - that the earth only consisted of him, Adam & Eve??? (Verse 17) - WHERE DID HIS WIFE'S EXISTENCE arrive FROM??!??!??!??! I am apt to think after these two scriptures below: ***(Gen 1:26) "Then God said, "Let Us make *man* in Our image, according to Our likeness;..." ***(Gen 2:7-8) "Then the LORD God formed *man* of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (8) The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed **the man** whom He had formed." He says he created "MAN" which can be interpreted as plural... Then He says he put "the Man" as in singular in the garden. So is God saying he created "Men" as in plural (and put them every over the world? Blacks, whites, Indians, Mexicans... you know what I mean. White, brown, black, etc...), then just picked Adam to be in the Garden of Eden, then created Eve. And when he created Eve, did he create a companion for every the other men around the world... Surely not. I have never been taught this. I'm just trying to understand it. This question is just the first step to me wandering where every man came from. every races. I'm just very curious...

Resolved Question: I brought an upside down catfish. It's destroyed my 20 gallon tank. It grows to 12+ inches, what should I do?

I brought an upside down catfish. I thought it was an unusal addition to my aquaruim. It is black, I thought just a different colour to the normal ones. So I brought one. Really chilly, swims unspide down everything. I had to go to my mum and dad's friends home for the weekend. I came back AND It's unruted every my live plants, eaten them every. Messed up every the gravel. It's very dirty and a messy eater. My 4 year old white crown tail betta was left lifeless at the bottom of the tank with no fins on its body. My 3 endler guppies haven't been seen since. I have 1 neon left, 4 have not been found. My 3 african dwarf frogs are alive, one is missing both its eyes and a torn flipper. I asked a question but no one told me this would happen. I've put the neon and my 3 frogs into a 5 gallon tank by themselves. The catfish is in the 20 gallon by itself. I plan on getting rid of it but my mum won't let me. She wants to put it into my 55gallon tank, but it would eat the tetra's, nip my gourami's and attack other fish? What should I do with it? My mum doesn't want to receive rid of it. I'm NOT keeping it in my 20 gallon, I know soon it will grow much, much larger. It's only about 1 inch at the moment. Plus I know it grows to 12 inches and over because I can look the golden dots on it. The fishes on google images are black with golden dots. What should I do? I'm only 12, almost 13. I can't just go to the fish store and give it back.

Resolved Question: How is java fern be used in an aquarium and help me aquascape my tank? 10 points best answer?!?

I'm just letting you know this is going to be really confusing because it's just every question popping into my mind as i look in google images at planted tanks. Thanks if you read and answer I got a load of java fern and i'm just wondering how it is best used in aquascaping. The tank is 30 gallons (dimensions are 30"l x 14"w x 15"h) and i plan on eventually keeping apistogrammas (cockatoos or something similar). I also want to use anubias and i'm planning on this tank being pretty low light (or at least not strong lighting) and fertilising with leaf zone or something similar and flourish excel. But back to the questions: So at the moment the tank looks terrible (i'm really bad at aquascaping). So first of every, you know when you seen pictures like this: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/gallery/files/5/8/3/9/AquaobsessionJavaHill.jpg I don't below stand how the build up that mound because surely it couldn't be every plants and stuff? Similar thing with this tank, how on earth did they receive it looking amazing? http://img521.imageshack.us/i/pict0025mv2.jpg/ I don't below stand where the plants are growing for. Obviously i don't think it's going to look like that. This is a low light plant tank that i would adore to have mine looking like (except i'm using brown gravel: http://www.ratemyfishtank.com/images/thumbimg/650/5150_2.jpg How do you think they attached java fern? And what's the rock? Also at the moment there is krib babies (pretty tiny) and bronze corydoras. I really want to start building up the back wall of the tank with looks of structure in the form of wood but i don't know if this will drastically change the pH because it's already very low. So what is something ideal to build up structure? What are some other plants except for anubias and java fern that are good in lowlight or do you think i'd be able to make a good looking tank with just those 2 plants? If there is anything else you can think of adding to your answer please do and thanks again.

Resolved Question: What do you think of my story?

This isn't the full thing just part. I posted this for a contest a couple months ago on The Write Away, and wanted to look what people thought. Dusted a purple-black, beneath a heaven of twinkling lights, I counted the stars, raising a finger for each one, even the most dim and barely visible entities in the dark blanket of night. It was two am, and snowflakes drifted lazily from the high skies, white patterns staining my skin briefly before they melted away. I laid on the grass, the chilly plants tickling my back. My unusual sweater tied to my waist, I refused to wear it despite the icy, and a picture laid on my chest. A newborn laughed as an older man kissed his forehead in the photo, to every appearances the two looked to be a glad family. The flask in my pocket sat temptingly close to my fingers, but I kept them busy counting the stars. The process should start by now, the process that would determine how my life would occur from then forward. I had delayed it long enough, I couldn't be afraid anymore. This was the moment, it was now or never. "Relive the night," she had said breathlessly as she lay helplessly in the hospital, "if you can relive the entire night in your mind without giving in you’ve truly changed.” Ignoring the chill of the air, the icy nip of two am, the time I’d always avoided, and despite my best efforts it sent a shiver down my spine. I sighed before I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. It had been two am, and the night’s sky had been exactly the same shade, only a few months previous. It seemed so long ago now, a distant memory in a head filled with blurry images of whirlwind parties and half-conscious rendezvous’. Despite that it was not long ago I was much younger, mentally at least. I was carefree, reckless and without direction in life. But most of every, I had no responsibility. It had been my twenty-first birthday, a day full of sickeningly cheerful celebration. I’d seen celebration fit back then, of course, before I had realized the depth of my addiction, before I had realized what a burden I had become. “Look! A comet!” her voice was like honey, drawling and sweet as she spoke. I followed her outstretched finger, watching as the glowing light flew across the sky. I murmured silent approval, clenching a flask tightly between my palms, too tipsy to do much else. I was a silent drinker, withdrawn and silent. She pursued her lips at me, peering down through narrowed eyes and thick lashes. I couldn’t appreciate her disapproval then, I didn’t understand anything, I was young and naïve, greedy and stupid. Nor could I understand the slight way her usually flat stomach had protruded from her tight t-shirt, or the strangely healthy glow that I could now attribute to the only thing that had ever made her shine in such a way. So instead I’d hung steadfast onto the nearly empty flask, nodding half-heartedly. Disapproval had morphed into an accepting moroseness, and she sat beside me resting her chin on my shoulder. The stars were beautiful that night, a pulsing a flickering sort of white light that lit the sky just enough along with the moon that I could make out the contours of her peaceful, smooth skin and straight nose. She had fallen asleep, light puffs of air moving in and out of her lips, and I clumsily draped an arm over her, shrugging my sweater off and draping it over her icy arms. I had never intended to trouble her in any way, that night I had done my best to be a caring gentlemen, but my problems had gotten the best of me, and I had once more turned to the silver container I hid in my pocket. I was becoming more sober now, and I had flushed from shame as well as liquor. My eyes fluttered open, and I reached habitually for my lifeblood, the only thing that had brought me through the tough times. I longed for the burn as it swept down my throat and the pleasant haze it would bring, glossing over the frightening and depressing subject at hand, but at the last moment I stopped, shaking my head clasping my fingers together. Warily I close my lids once more. Had I been sober I may have noticed the crunching of twigs beneath heavy steps, or the eerie chill that had settled over the secluded spot in the forest. The wind had picked up, and I shivered beneath its harsh force. But it had never occurred to me to take my sweater back. She was more important, and always would be, “Hey, kids” the husky, grim voice of a stranger had jolted me from my internal suffering. I turned my head, nodding at the man. He looked to be about thirty, with black beady eyes and a mess of blonde hair that spilled across his face, which was marred by a big scar extending from his brow to his lips. “Good evening, sir.” I had mumbled, unaware if I was slurring my words or not. I had not been suspicious, or frightened, in fact I was happily surprised to have met another, someone to talk with as she slept peacefully on my shoulder. It was when the man had reached into his pocket and pulled out a knife that I’d jerked back in surprise. She had slipped of my shoulder, jolting her awake. After she’d rubbed her eyes wearily she peeked up, letting out a little squeal when she saw him. I held her tightly, staring through slightly muddled eyes. “receive away!” I’d hissed, only tipsy I had held some of my wits about me. Though not enough to figure out she was struggling to run, and I had held her grounded with me on the tiny picnic blanket. The man sauntered forward, a sick and murderous look in his eyes. That was when I’d realized it, finally realized that this man very well intended to kill us. Then when I scurried to run my foot had caught the blanket and I’d fallen to the ground, my back facing our attacker. He’d pulled his arm backward, attempting to put as much force behind the knife as humanly possible and lunged forward. It continues after this, but I haven't enough room. xD

Resolved Question: Yellowing of rose leaves. Mosaic virus or Mn/Fe deficiency or something else?

When I moved here 1.5 years ago, when spring came, I saw what looked like it was trying to be a rose in the strip of soil beside the steer. I fed it and though neglected before, it produced a few blooms, and was a floribunda named purple tiger. I clip it back and covered it for the winter and winter-fed it, then fed epsom salts (MgSO-4) and Vigoro in staggered feedings early, then Vigoro. It produced abundantly and vigorously for its first flowering, and put out new buds for second flowering. But these buds have opened to smaller flowers, and there is a yellowing of the leaves, even the upper ones and a nice of fluting of the edges. I went online for images of rose diseases. This variety is susceptible to black spot, and I have been spraying it with Spectracide insect & disease control, but even so, I think I'm seeing some black spot on the lower leaves. The leaf I am looking at right now, that I brought in to search for matching images, has green veins but yellowing between the veins, with the yellowing more toward the outer tip of the leaf. What in heaven's name is going on with this plant?

Open Question: What do you think about this situation?

It's been awhile since my parents were married. They had a divorce when I was around 9 or 10 years old. I'm 17 now and I'm heading into my senior year ready to receive into the college searching and to be honest with you I've been searching already. My mom has found a man 4 months after the separation between her and my dad (notice they haven't divorced yet) and now in 2 weeks I will be going to Florida for 1 week against my will (and yes it is against my will because they already bought the plane tickets and they're non-refundable) to look my mom receive remarried to another man. My mom's side of the family absolutely hates me because I am the "Spitting Image of my dad" and I recently chose to live with him because I was unhappy with my mom (She would arrive in my room and pick fights with me, tell me that I'm an ugly girl and that I will be lonely if I don't receive my act together, to be honest this lady was going through menopause and I didn't say or do anything to receive treated this way, literally I would just be sitting there and I'm not fat but I'm not skinny either, she would say "You're anorexic I'm calling the doctor" exactly like that. Pathetic huh?) Before then I would receive along great with my dad and now he wouldn't have to pay child support and I could go to college! A little later he had a heart attack. He legally died, his heart stopped and there was no pulse, for a fair amount of time (less than a minute obviously) they brought him back to life. That is a life changing experience for both myself and dad. He began to drink more than he has been. He smokes more too! He works from home now and what's worse is, he's in the living room which just happens to be in the middle of the whole home, I'm always stuck in my room. I walk out towards the living room and he's on the phone or something he looks at me with a dirty look and tells me to close up because he's on an important call. GO TO WORK. He recently got a beautiful, huuuuuge office It was the CEO of that department's office! He bought beautiful home office plants to go in there. He has been working from home, taking away from my home life living and my sister's as well, and not only that but the plants are completely dead. The home is a complete mess I have to clean it every the time and when I ask him to do something simple like "Dad can you please take your clothes up to your room so they're not on the kitchen table?" "Okay sure hunny I'll do it after work, I'm busy right now" Guess how long those clothes have been there? Weeks. If I ask him again to bring them up the next day he will yell at me and then were back to square one. He works from 6 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon sometimes 5. There are times where I look him receive out of bed in the middle of the night to check his work laptop and work on some things. When he is done for the afternoon he goes to the bar. He got a DUI but because of his great profile he was able to receive out of spending every that cash. We recently got into a bad battle and he dislocated my jaw for the first time (It's fine now, he wouldn't bring me to the hospital because if the doctor found out then his butt would be thrown in a cell) He drinks and drives a lot, but ever since that night he was arrested, he stopped doing that , but he's still drunk or tipsy every the time, so he is easily aggrivated. I used to be able to talk to this guy, look up to him, now he's telling me every these things when he's drunk or has no clue about and I don't know! He's forcing me into going to this community college that is right close where I live. I refused to go there because they don't give me what I'm looking for! I want to go to Full Sail and my dad has the money to do it but he wants me to stay here for 2 years to receive my bs classes (idk liberal arts classes?) done and then he said he'll let me. He will be wasting money because at Full Sail they're required classes are different than the ones at this community college! He doesn't understand and when I tell him anything about college or school or anything that I got information from, from a professional (i.e. guidence counselor or admissions representative) he basically tells me to stick my thumb up my butt and walk away. He tells me that I'm stupid and I need to look into it more and thats not how it works after I JUST got off the phone with the admissions representative. I can't talk to him anymore at every. He's too busy drinking or working. He wonders why I'm out of the home every the time, but now he's forcing me to stay here every other day. I can't handle it because he's always down my throat about SOMETHING! He nags about things to me every the time and I just don't want to hear it anymore!

Resolved Question: How to handle a bragging friend?

My wife is bothered by a pal of ours whom we really like and have no wish to hurt, but this is an ongoing problem for my wife and she is having trouble just ignoring it. This pal has 4 kids as we do and she brags on whatever they are doing, playing piano or whatever and does so in front of both her and our kids. To us these are nice things, but not noteworthy. We simply do not believe in bragging about our possess kids - after every everyone thinks their possess kids are special and every parent should think that. We also do not want our kids to think they are better than anyone else, even if they are it would be terrible to plant such an idea in their little heads. So that leave us in a dilemma. The other day she was over and bragged "my six your old is already reading on a first grade level." My wife held her peace and just responded "that's nice," but wanted to say "So! My six year old is in the gifted program and reading on a 4-5th grade level - why are you bragging about the child performing at grade level?l." But that would be so hurtful to burst this lady's balloon. Still my wife feels like in her bragging this lady puts down others including our kids and is providing her kids a untrue image of how well they are doing. We keep hoping she will grow up one day and cease being so consumed with her kids's lives and realize they are wonderful and normal and that it is ok to be normal. Anyone have any strategies for handling people like this - preferably without putting her down.

Resolved Question: Ever had similar feelings? Please C/C?

When you bring bouquets of roses to me, the petals fall and I am left with thorns that stem from needy self-image, seeds they planted too long ago... You look at me as I'm leaving and the burning in my back comes from the flaming arrows that you called adore; that hurts. But what hurts more is the adore in me, the need to rub your shoulders when they ache from work, and in return I receive a shrug ....and a harrumph.

Resolved Question: Gymnetron tetrum juvenile - Any entomologists out there?

Can anyone point me to a photo of a juvenile European Curculionid Weevil, Gymnetron tetrum? I have found any number of images of adults, but no juveniles. Do they look the same? I found some similar-looking critters on a mullein plant, but they are green, have more prominent antennae, and the snout is different. Please look http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4123/4830790459_9b33bd4785_b.jpg and http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4087/4830790507_0a79b455f4_b.jpg Any idea what this bug is, if it is not a juvenile weevil?

Voting Question: If God is so loving then why does he hate Homosexuals....?

I mean, if he created us every in his Image, then why did he force Homosexuality on people even though he supposedly hates it? And my proof for Homosexuality not being a choice is that I'm a Lesbian and I've attempted to change to Heterosexuality but guess what? It just doesn't work, when I attempted to be a Heterosexual, I wasn't glad with Males. So if God is so loving then why does he hate the very thing that he put into Animals,Plants and Humans but didn't give them the choice? @Peachy Perfect - Homosexuality isn't a choice and Heterosexuality isn't a choice either. Do you recommend Homosexuals to live lonely for the relax of our lives when we could be glad. Homosexuality isn't hurting anyone....

Resolved Question: What do fish eat and like?

I caught a lot of fish in the canal by my home the other day, and they seem to be hungry. I am pretty sure they are minnows. I caught them with using bread as bait, and they are about 2 inches long. They look like normal fish, and I have been giving them little pieces of bread. However, I was wondering if there is any other king of food that I can give them. I have been keeping them in the same canal water I found them in, so they can eat the bacteria and other things in there. Should I give them grass and leaves? The canal I found them in also has some overgrowth of plants, but I am not sure if they eat it or just live in it. Also, what should I stick in the tank to make them feel more homey, should I put a rock, grass, leaves, or anything else? Thanks alot! P.S. here are some photos that look just like them: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://paperbouquet.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/baby-fish3.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.megfowler.com/category/infertility/&usg=__r_iQtUt_5xPWXaxfiIYtKOEv_U0=&h=572&w=428&sz=196&hl=en&start=0&tbnid=KOFfJW3wXsBF9M:&tbnh=126&tbnw=101&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbaby%2Bfish%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D550%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C171&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=448&vpy=167&dur=5840&hovh=260&hovw=194&tx=94&ty=140&ei=g1NMTP79F8H68Aatv9U1&page=1&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:12,s:0&biw=1024&bih=550 http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.lakework.com/images/fathead_minnows.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.lakework.com/site/fathead-minnows.php&usg=__toRI4ykGFthsT1tAw4b9w7Rh53k=&h=261&w=350&sz=14&hl=en&start=15&tbnid=gIQ6eyIGdAnt8M:&tbnh=122&tbnw=171&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dminnows%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D550%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C456&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=294&ei=W1RMTO6KDIH88Ab1gNUy&page=2&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:15&biw=1024&bih=550 http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/fish/reports/fishingreport/tmfimages/fatheadadult.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/fish/vhs/fatheadadult.html&usg=__L18o9l8uqxDPMu9NLL5cQCF_IW4=&h=344&w=540&sz=26&hl=en&start=0&tbnid=IKW5DJDbZJVs5M:&tbnh=133&tbnw=201&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dfathead%2Bminnows%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D550%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C285&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=130&vpy=85&dur=4162&hovh=179&hovw=281&tx=89&ty=152&ei=w1RMTPSDBoGdlgeCl5T3DQ&page=1&ndsp=8&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:0&biw=1024&bih=550

Resolved Question: My friend believes in God and Evolution at the same time. What do you call a religious belief like this?

My pal believes that in the begining God created everything, but not as quickly as 7 days. That the 7 days thing is an exaggeration or that every year of ours is equal to something like 1 million years by God. My pal thinks that God was here before anything. God created the first rock, that then in space banged into other rocks, etc. etc. until we had earth. And that God put on earth the first organism that started life. And that first item that God put on earth developed and deformed and sprang off into different directions creating plants/animals (even dinosaurs)/ and eventually humans. My pal does believe that humans decended from apes but that since got created the first spark of life then that means God created apes and therefore created us. My pal does not believe that anything was by chance. God created and guided us to develope just as we are but that does not mean that He created us in His image, it only means that he created us how he wanted is to be. And when he sent down his Son for us, he had the Son be created as we every are and born as we every are and be as we every are. He did not change the form of his 'Son' to be different from us so he could blend in with us. My pal does believe that God cares and 'counted every the hairs on our head' but that he counted every the hairs on every living beings head, that he cares about everything, the plants/animals and us. It's very interesting but I'm not sure what category it every falls below. Is this something new?

Voting Question: Who would win in a fight between the slender man and a druid?

RPG style druid: Control over plants, and the ability to cause them to grow rapidly. Slender man: The Slender Man was created at the Something Awful Forums in a thread entitled "Create Paranormal Images." He is described as wearing a black suit strikingly similar to the visage of the notorious Men In Black, and as the name suggests, appears very thin and able to stretch his limbs and torso to inhuman lengths in order to induce fear and ensnare his prey. Once his arms are outstretched, his victims are put into something of a hypnotized state, where they are utterly helpless to cease themselves from walking into them. He is also able to create tendrils from his fingers and back that he uses to walk on in a similar fashion to Doc Ock, the Spider-Man villain in the Marvel Universe. The superhuman stretching ability could also be seen as a similiarty between himself and Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four. Whether he absorbs, kills, or mearly takes his victims to an undisclosed location or dimension is also unknown as there are never any bodys or evidence left behind in his wake to deduce a definite conclusion. Are you sure? Fighting a druid in a forest is pretty much the same as fighting an entire forest.... An mad forest.

Resolved Question: 10 pts if you can point out a flaw in this logic?

The Question of God. God either has an impact/influence on what happens in the world, or he doesn't. 1. If God had an influence on things that happen, he must decide on what he will affect; positively or negatively. 2. If he is to affect something positively or negatively, it requires judgement on his part based on what is right or wrong, meaning that he would have to be 100% un-biased otherwise God would be discriminating against people everyday. 3. That concept is debatable because there is no guideline to what is right or wrong, (if i steal $100 from a store owner to keep my daughter from starvation, it is right in my opinion but wrong in the eyes of the store owners) 4. Since there is no action that can be 100% positive without a single debate (If you plant a tree, you are taking nutrition away from another living organism because the tree needs to use some) we must conclude that God can therefore either have no impact on the world, or he discriminates on the world, proving the Bible, Quran and every other religeous books untrue. 5. a) Since everything about God began with the religeous books, we can conclude that the image/idea/mentality of God being a thing that does the wonders that it does is untrue. 5. b) if we establish that God exists, but has no impact on the world, then we can say that his existence is futile

Voting Question: Anyways to improve my volunteering essay would be greatly appreciated?

You can re-edit it or anything, send it to me via email if you like, please request my email address if you would like to do that. Thanks! Nelson Henderson once said that, “[t]he true meaning of life is to plant trees, below whose shade you do not expect to sit”. To give and not expect reward should be the essence of humanity, where people are willing to help each other out of the goodness of their hearts. Therefore, volunteering is the essence of humanity, equality, and the beauty of mankind. As people volunteer and contribute to society, they disseminate seeds in the wonderful symbolic garden of the world, while they also experience an inner growth of moral spirit. Rebirth, growth and care are the generous and profound meanings of volunteerism that shall forever remain. Of my many volunteering hours, there are highlights to mention. A mere paragraph cannot suffice to describe the numerous hours which myself and others had employed toward bettering the world. For starters, I am a proud member of the Whitecourt Youth Advisory Committee. We meet monthly with the Mayor to discuss important issues, events and various other topics within Whitecourt. The main goal of the committee that I belong to is to improve our town the best we can. Four members, including myself, represent the voice of youth, and we strive to enhance opportunities for young people and lift awareness of youth potential. I am a liaison between youth and local government. We constantly contribute ideas, and work for the committee in order to improve the town of Whitecourt. I also am a volunteer coordinator within Whitecourt, where I assist in planning and organizing volunteer programs, advertising and presenting volunteering opportunities to members of Whitecourt. Aside from being involved in the Whitecourt Youth Advisory Committee, I am a member of the “Whitecourt POWER” group, which stands for “People Of Whitecourt Encouraging Resiliency.” Grounded in extensive research in youth development, resiliency and prevention, the “POWER” group, represents the relationships, opportunities and personal qualities that young people need in order to avoid risks and to thrive. The “POWER” group’s vision consists of a Whitecourt where every citizens have the opportunity to thrive and progress toward a glad and healthy lifestyle. Our missions and work consists of support to create a Whitecourt that promotes resiliency through the actions of its community members. Whitecourt also held a “Relay for Life Marathon” to lift money for cancer, the volunteers would receive sponsors for walking in the relay throughout the night. I walked for eight straight hours and raised as much money as I could for cancer research. The thrill of helping people, gave me a sense of joy and accomplishment, because I was able to give back to the community. In addition, I have participated in 4-H within another nearby community, Mayerthorpe. There, we collected trash along the highways and helped preserve a healthy environment for members of society and maintaining a positive public image. Also within Mayerthorpe, I have volunteered many hours at the Mayerthorpe General Hospital, where I socialized with patients, served and cooked dinner, watered plants and completed standard cleaning practices. While volunteering, I developed a very close relationship with one of the patients who has taught me so much and helped me grow as a person. That patient’s name was Dawn. She is in a wheelchair and has Tourette's syndrome. Dawn usually does not respond or talk with other staff members, she always keeps to herself. After I got to know her a bit, she warmed up to me and we became close friends. I would talk and giggle with her everyday. I will never forget how she taught me to appreciate life and never loose faith. Besides volunteering at the hospital, within Whitecourt schools, I have been a member of student council from 2003-2007, where I worked with other members toward creating and sustaining a friendly atmosphere within our school. We planned school spirit days, dances and much more. Volunteering has undoubtedly allowed me to like the satisfaction of making a difference. Kindness should not cease at the human manifestation of borderlines, countries or nations; kindness is not characterized by the work you may do for your family, friends and community, but the wish and help you give to every of humanity. To help those whom you do not know, is not only to shower them with adore and wish, but also to help them the best you can with the most you can offer. True kindness comes from the heart, and you do it without expecting rewards. Within my current school, Hilltop High, I am the treasurer of the Hilltop Humanitarian Society. The Hilltop Humanitarian Society was created in September 2007 to help orphaned kids in Uganda. With the help of local businesses and community members, in partnership with the “Ugandan Women's Effort To keep Orphans”, the Humanitarian So ”, the Humanitarian Society is a major sponsor of the Masulita kids's Village in Uganda. The HIV-AIDS pandemic in Uganda has left more than 2 million kids as orphans, many of whom have no access to education, shelter, adequate dietary needs or medication. Our main goal is to foster relationships between students in Uganda and Canada, and to involve the students in direct, face-to-face aid. The society volunteers at many different events, with every the profits going directly where it is needed most. We donate 500 US Dollars a month and because it is a very direct organization, the money goes straight to the orphanage. We have very direct ties with the orphans, owners and operators of the orphanage. The Ugandan kids are part of our family. Each member has a pen pal orphan and upon reading the first letter I received from my pen pal, I could not hold back my tears. The child’s gratefulness for our assistance made me realize how much a person can help the world, just by offering , just by offering time, money and effort the best they can, with adore, care, and a truly giving heart. To maintain a constant support for the orphanage, other members and I held events such as, bottle drives, car washes, catering, and school events, every of which are made successful by generous local businesses; we also serve suppers at business parties and much more. As treasurer, I am responsible for every financial work such as budgeting, ledgers, reconciliation, financial reports, banking, scheduling and tracking volunteering hours. I work very difficult to keep our society organized and able to provide help to those in need. Through my contribution to the world, I have been blessed with the rebirth and nurturing of my possess metaphoric plant. Gandhi taught the world that, "[t]he best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others." The effort and time that I have offered in volunteering has rewarded me with motivation and adore. Though these rewards are not tangible, , they have nonetheless allowed my inner self to become more knowledgeable to the less fortunate in the world and mature into a beautiful and constantly growing metaphoric tree. The world can become a better place when people work jointly with the common goal that the world needs to be improved. To truly make a change in the world for the better, is though a collective volunteering minds that are determined to contribute to creating and sustaining a healthy and glad world. “In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it” (Marianne Williamson). While I may be insignificant and cannot change the entire world alone, if I leave the earth having made a tiny step towards improving the world, I will be proud because I know that I have made a difference. There is truth in what Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “[t]he creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.” I strive to be that acorn. A garden requires A garden requires patient care, attention and time. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone expended effort on them, as the world requires the same care and generosity in order to grow, learn and prosper. If we continue to work together, the world will become a better place for every who thrive and live within it. It was once said, “Mental sunshine will cause the flowers of peace, happiness and prosperity to grow upon the face of the earth. Be a creator of mental sunshine.”

Resolved Question: help with my jade plant + question about insects in pot?

I'm not really sure if it IS called a jade plant because the seller didn't tell me the name properly, i think it had a letter p or b, and i did some reaserch online and saw an image of it, and it said it was called a jade plant.. and i was wondering, if it is a jade plant because mine has thinner stems, and its not that big, some stems are kinda dangling, though the leaves are exaclty the same : fleshy, waxy, shiny, light/dark green, and it doen't have any flowers.... the stems are brown at the bottom, and then they suddenly apear green at the top, IT IS NOT velvety... so is this a jade plant? and the OTHER QUESTION is: in my pot, the one the (jade ) plant is in, there are little tiny snails or slugs, because this plant i got was from a green home ( plants) it also had another insect, kinda like a woolouse, brown, cylinder shaped, v.short, and it had lots of legs, but bear in mind it was tiny, now, should i receive rid of those? because i don't want them to reproduce and take over the home lol, do u think i should put the plant in my room? REALLY sorry about the long question, but it would be gr8 if u answered me : ) sorry, its * wood louse :P

Resolved Question: Obama is Hitler, Obama is Lenin: Can the these people pick a side and stick with it?

Look not a fan of President Obama but seriously after hearing about the Iowa billboard which compared him both leaders I really need to ask this....not for his sake but for America's image! Things like this make us every look like inbred, retarded, animal kids who don't know the difference between a nuclear reactor and a stained shoe. Hitler was a fascist Lenin was a communist *These are the 2 extreme ends of the spectrum* So how about we every agree to tug our brains out of whatever storage jars they are in, dust them off, put them in our heads and try using them every day long? I mean if you are going to make a nonsensical, invalid comparison then at least try to make the nonsense coherent.....it is like walking up to a green plant and comparing it to blue sky and red flame...if you are gonna made such a wild claim...at least do not use opposite analogies. ******************************************************************************************************************** Please note I am NOT saying do not compare Obama to whoever you want...that is private business even if it is silly to compare him to those two (he sucks but c'mon hitler and lenin he is not) every I ask is that maybe you pick ONE end of the spectrum to compare him to and use that.....if only for the reputation of every Americans if not for basic decency ******************************************************************************************************************* Mama Grizzly> actually on the spectrum communism is one step away from anarchy which is no government grandma zaza> every news report I look says it was a tiny group but still more than one person...anyway doesn't change the issue I am questioning Reagan-Jeffersonian Party > No actually they are not...that is an invalid spectrum as it is a square...spectrums are not square and never have been. Communism is complete collective control of everything..Facism is complete corporatist system...complete opposites Ephraim> Well since the hospitals are still private and doctors are not state employees I don't look how any reasonable connection is made...as for who lives or dies Heath Insurance companies have been doing that for many years and no one cared...seems hypocritical to be pissed that someone in govt authority wants that power instead of some jerk in a cubicle considering the govt determines the death penalty, where to send troops to battle, etc I will cook and eat Chaka> Well I got my degree about 10 years ago so big whoop you got one. But I was around when there was a USSR, when we had to actually know who US fought in WW2 and actually pass tests and receive good grades to graduate. Your answer is full of holes considering no one with any experience and historical knowledge would ever consider Obama tyrannical...he inherited an office with expanded power by the previous guy (the one who suspended Habeas Corpus btw), he has nto shown any marxist leanings considering we have no public option on health care, no industry nationalization. Your idea is basically baseless and this is from a comprehensive knowledge of american history as well as political+economic understanding. Polly> That is your opinion...ok fine and more power to you to talk it. I will point out one fact though for you to consider. Like the last 1-2 decades America once let capitalism run unrestrained and we ended up in the Great Depression. Afterward regulations were put in place and programs were put in place that created the middle class...known as the Great Compression which anyone today would call a redistribution of wealth out of the top 1% to everyone and due to the Great Compression America had its most properious period ever. Take that for what you will Steele grave> Yeah and flame+extreme icy can both burn flesh...suppose we can use flame and ice interchangably then. But OK let's use the square...let's use a real one and not a crappy one...Hitler and Lenin still end up on opposite corners unless you want to make a political spectrum turnover...one is Right wing, other is Left wing. grandma zaza > Now while I was not a fan I don't think it is right to call Bush Hitler.....at least they picked ONE side and used that again and again...they didn't make him Hitler, then Stalin, then Lenin, then Ghandi, etc....they stuck with ONE extreme * I didn't say don't parody Obama with extreme example...I am just asking people to pick ONE extreme and go with it and not flip flop every over place* Steele grave> But opposing philosophies and socio-political structures. As for what may be....maybe, but maybe Bush is setting up to take over and declare himself Emperor after Obama's term, maybe lizards will develop laser eyebeams tomorrow, or every kids will be born with 7 arms starting next month. Wanna be cautious...fine that is good Wanna compare him to Hitler..OK Wanna compare him to Stalin...fine might be silly but go for it Just cease saying he is flame and ice at same time because it is stupid and makes every Americans look stupid pick a extremist and cease flip flopping....that is the entirety of this question not asking for the sun and the moon here....just an iota of reason

Resolved Question: What is this plant called?

Here are two images I have taken of it, both taken in New York State. I have seen it for years, usually in forests, or in partial to full shade, in moist areas, and growing in Spring to early Summer. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/Barberry17/DSC08757.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/Barberry17/DSC09649.jpg

Resolved Question: How do you like this description of Human History?

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. He created every animals and plants, and sea, and trees, and gardens. He then created the first human being: Adam. And out of Adam's rib He created Eve. Adam was yellow and Eve was white, together they bare Cain, who was black. Adam was the beginning of Eastern culture, and Eve was the beginning of Western culture, and Cain was the beginning of African culture. Cain died, and hundred years later or so they bare Seth, who was the first uppermost upper class person. Seth along with his son, also uppermost upper class, taught people to worship the Lord. At that time there were no nations, no societies, people simply scattered around the earth and lived. My guess is that most people that lived in the East started going every yellow, and in the West started going every white, and in the South started going every black. People started sinning, and finally in the year about BC 2600, God gave the flood to destroy everything, except Noah and his family. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Shem was yellow, Ham was black, and Japheth was white. Shem moved Eastward, Ham Southwawrd, and Japheth Westward. Again, there were no nations, no societies at that time. Then Noah's great grandson: Nimrod, the first Mighty One to appear in the course of Human History, was a War. He united people, conquered people, and established nations and societies. Out of him came Babylon, Assyria, and Persia, and eventually Greek Empire. every the earth started imitating him to build countries, of which the most successful, Egyptian Empire in Africa, which is a black empire. The earth started growing vastly, Egyptian Empire created amazing cultural heritage. They had advancement in everything, intelligence, beauty, theology, art, music, architecture...etc. It reaeched the peak during Pharoah Amenhotep III. Alongside that, hundred of years later, God gave Jewish the greatest man in Human History: King Solomon. He developed Israel into an Empire, had the riches and women never before, and never after. He didn't surpass Egypt, however, since it had already thousand year old heritage, which is impossible to be broken by a single person. After that came the golden age of Empires. Shalmaneser III and Tigleth Pileser III for Assyrian Empire, both white; Darius the Great for Persian Empire, yellow, and eventually Alexander the Great for Greek Empire, also white. The Greek Empire spreaded Hellenistic culture to the world, which marked the beginning of the meet between Eastern culture and Western culture. Next, couple of hundred years later, the Saviour of mankind came to earth: Jesus Christ. He salvaged people by sacrificing himself on the Cross, and after he died, Apostle Paul laid the foundation of Christianity, which set the mark for the image of Christians. After that start getting really complicated. Roman Empire started a couple hundred years earlier, created by Hannibal, put into practice by Julius Caesar. Roman Empire was never strong, but it united successfully every the white civilisations. Alongside, China was rising as the most advanced civilisation to replace Egyptian civilisation. China was at that time Han Dynasty, and eventually to the Romance of Three Kingdoms, during which Mighty Ones, heroes popped. At the same time, the European countries we have today started emerging from Roman Empire, for example, France, England...etc. Then in China came the first ever period of Human History that fashioned Sex Desire, amongst the six Desires of humans. The next important event probably came the second golden age of China: Tang Dynasty, during which countries around called the king Emperor of the World, and during which the last of China's Four Beauties: Yang Gui-Fei lived. After that world started shifting to West Asia, where Islamic Golden Age took place. It was Abbasaid Caliphate that ruled, and marked a great jump forward to human civilisation, culture, intelligence, art, poetry...etc. Islamic Golden Age lasted for about 400-500 years. At the same time, every the European countries were still generally in the Dark Age. I know barely about what happened at this time in Africa and Latin America. Next came the Ottoman Empire, which was another great jump forward for the West Asians. However, the Islamic religion started spreading throughout there as well, it was like a battle between good and bad. Then the course of Human History shifts again, this time to white civilisation. Renaissance began in Italy, which was a revolution in philosophy, humanity, art, and pretty much everyhing. It was like a light that started shining everywhere to pass the Dark Age. Then came Bacon and Descarted which laid the methodology for science, and the peak was reached by Isaac Newton, thus led to the Science Revolution, which again highly advanced Human History. Out of that came Indus

Resolved Question: Did the LORD GOD change HIS mind about punishing children for the sins of their parents?

In Exodus 20:5, the LORD says He will visit the guilt of the parent upon their kids, to the 3rd and 4th generation. However, in Jeremiah 31:29 He says “In those days, they shall no longer say, “Parents have eaten sour grapes and kids’s teeth are blunted.” But every one shall die for his possess sins: whosoever eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be blunted.” So I read this as the LORD can change His mind, becoming more lenient with man as He discovers that man is not able to obey his strict laws. I think is an important concept in thinking about the LORD. Do you agree? Below quotes are from JPS Tanakh The Holy Scriptures Exodus 20: 4You shall not make for yourself a sculptured image, or any likeness of what is in the heavens over, or on the earth below, or in the waters below the earth. 5You shall not bow down to them or serve them. For I the Lord your God am an impassioned God, visiting the guilt of the parents upon the kids, upon the third and upon the fourth generations of those who reject Me, 6but showing kindness to the thousandth generation of those who adore Me and keep My commandments. Jeremiah31: 27See, a time is coming—declares the Lord—when I will sow the home of Israel and the home of Judah with seed of men and seed of cattle; 28and just as I was watchful over them to uproot and to tug down, to overthrow and to destroy and to bring disaster, so I will be watchful over them to build and to plant—declares the Lord. 29In those days, they shall no longer say, “Parents have eaten sour grapes and kids’s teeth are blunted.” 30But every one shall die for his possess sins: whosoever eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be blunted. 31See, a time is coming—declares the Lord—when I will make a new covenant with the home of Israel and the home of Judah. 32It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers, when I took them by the hand to guide them out of the land of Egypt, a covenant which they broke, though I espoused them—declares the Lord.

Resolved Question: I need a name for a made up flower, help please!?

He was created in the gardens of Iriem (he's not human, but he looks it) and loads of people consider them bad or well for example nice of look upon them like the europeans did to the native americans- along those lines. He's strong, unsure of himself but really ambitious and once he believes something would need something dramatic or a whole lot of evidence that goes against it to change his mind. Here's a pic of what he looks like http://www.foxnews.com/images/344993/1_62_Hayden_Christensen_320.jpg His name is Talin, (well that's what I'm thinking so far) and i need a name for a blossom/tree/plant he was created from. Preferably made up, I've been searching through blossom books for the whole night, and yahoo answering, web searching etc. but the latin names are sooooooo long, i was wondering has anyone any suggestions?
